Emmanuel Church

"A Growing Church in a Growing Community"

Emmanuel started as a Sunday School plant from St Andrew's around 1961 and gradually grew into a daughter Church in 1966. Over the years the congregation has grown, with a particular emphasis on being a local family church.

Ecclesiastical boundaries were drawn up for pastoral care and mission when Emmanuel became a Conventional District within St Andrew's Parish in 1993 and out of this developed the vision to be:

"A Growing Church in a Growing Community"

As part of this vision to serve the local community, a new church was opened in September 2001, with the present wooden bubuildings being refurbished and upgraded as the 'new' Emmanuel Church Centre.

Bishop Peter Forster licenced the new church for worship at a special service with unveiling of the foundation stone on Friday 7 September 2001
